Rahab: Prophet of Promise
Text: Joshua 2:1–24 and 6:22–25
Pastor Zach Herzog tells the story of Madam Rahab and the “crummy spies who got caught in her brothel.” Like contemporary sex workers, Rahab is in a marginalized and outsider class. And yet she is a prophet and truth-teller in the story of God’s people: God keeps God’s promise. Her story is an invitation to pay attention to those who are most marginalized, those we see as unlikely vessel’s of God’s word and work in the world, and to trust in God’s promise of ever-present love.
