Support for Global Mission
Many of us heard Kathryn Smith Derksen speak with eloquent conviction during our worship service on September 6. She presented us with a full and riveting picture of both the need and opportunity for peacemaking that exists in South Africa. It is into this ministry that she and Dan are called and are presently making plans to engage with through Mennonite Mission Network. They are still in need of resources to make this ministry a reality. Please contact one of the people on their Ministry Support Team – Paul Brown, Annette Hein, and Karina Derksen-Schrock to learn ways that you can help, or pick up a mission card at the welcome table for more information.

AUTUMN WORSHIP: OCTOBER THROUGH NOVEMBER
As nature prepares for winter slumber, we also experience a rhythmic cycle of turning inward. Like the seed underground, people may not perceive from the outside the inner work that is happening when we acknowledge our grief of the changing seasons while yet embracing those shifts with fortitude and grace. The worship series envisioned for October to November, “Turning of the Season: Healing for the Soul” seeks to create a place of holding both the darker shades of life with the beauty of this season as we join in support and challenge of one another as a community. In this series, I particularly welcome stories from the congregation of how they have experienced healing personally, or witnessed transformation in others.
Focuses for Sundays, October 4 through November 22
October 4: Healing of body and soul November 1: Healing of the demonic
October 11: Healing of the nations November 8: Healing of alienation
October 18: Healing of the earth November 15: Healing of neighbor
October 25: Healing of community November 22: Gratitude for healing and wholeness
