In the myriad of complexity that typifies our life experience, we can feel ourselves lost in the storm. Even though Jesus’ disciples had been privileged to witness various instances of their Teacher’s miraculous powers, still, they become panicked as the waters begin to rise within the boat. How could Jesus sleep at a time like this?... Does it ever feel to us as if Jesus were sleeping at the time when we need his power most? Do we wish we could rouse Jesus – hoping that our panic will spur him into action?
